Sizing/Naming

MAN-TLE products are named according to their range, type, timing, and material system. The first figures represent the Range number – R1 (Range-1) marks our first release in Autumn-Winter 2016, while R18 (Range-18) denotes our eighteenth release in Spring-Summer 2025. When prefixed with ‘W’, such as W-R17, the range has been designed as womenswear.

We release two Ranges and two W-Ranges per year aligning with the Autumn-Winter and Spring-Summer seasons. R0 (Range-0) is our carryover Range of fixed MAN–TLE products, which is replenished throughout the year.

The second figure defines the style and sequence in which the product was created. For example S1 (Shirt-1) is the very first shirt we developed. The third figure is the garment's “nickname”, and the final figure pertains to the fabric within our material system. For instance, S1 Black Wax is made from the original MAN–TLE ‘MT’ cloth – a high-density cotton chambray with paraffin wax coating, revisited in new colours every Range. Typically S1 belongs to the MT Shirt system which includes waxed and washed versions of our MT cloth, finished with slotted buttons and tape.

‘SP’ marks MAN-TLE products of a special quality, typically produced in limited quantities and available only at Shop MAN–TLE or one of our stockists.

‘W-’ ranges indicate the item was designed for a female body. Names without this detail suggest the item was designed to be unisex. Further distinction is made through sizing: men’s and unisex garments are sized with letters XXS to XL, while women’s specific garments are sized with numbers 0 to 4.

Most MAN-TLE shirts and outerwear is generously sized. We always encourage customers to check over the measurements provided before making a purchase. Comparing these measurements to a garment you already own and enjoy the fit of can be particularly helpful.
