+Relaxed, straight-cut shirt. Generous room through armholes, relaxed sleeves with single button closure, high stand collar, button front, large left-chest pocket. This shirt is designed to be naturally overdyed. Dyeing commissioned to iconic mud works Kanai Kougei, based in Amami-Ōshima. Master craftsman Yukihito Kanai preserves the ancient Dorozome techniques of the island, while expressing his fascination with gradation and exploring new combinations of colour using materials within reach. Made in Japan.
- Cloth
-
+70% cotton / 30% linen high-density parachute cloth. This garment is first dyed in a tannin-rich dye bath made from the bark of local Teichiki wood, which then reacts to immersion in iron-rich mud, dorotetsu. This garment has undergone 25 cycles of Dorozome (mud-dyeing) to achieve great depth of colour and gentle gradation. Please note that due to the hand-dyed nature of this cloth, slight irregularities in the finished colour may occur. Designed to evolve with washing, wear, and exposure to sunlight. Woven in Shizouka and hand-dyed by Kanai Kougei in Amami-Ōshima.
